Ecotram at the Hacienda Baru

ECOTRAM AT THE HACIENDA BARU

Ecotram is delighted to announce the launch of the first Ecotram in Costa Rica, at the famed Hacienda Baru National Wildlife Refuge & Lodge.

Located in San Isidro on Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast, the 815-acre Hacienda Baru comprises a variety of distinct habitats, including wetlands and lowland and highland rainforest, and hundreds of identified species of birds, mammals, butterflies, reptiles and amphibians.

Although Hacienda Baru has long offered onsite Zipline tours, it has installed two 2-span Ecotram cableways, in recognition that the Ecotram system offers guests an unprecedented intimate encounter with the forest canopy and its wildlife, allowing users to travel at their own pace in a motorized chair, to speed up, slow down, turn 340 degrees, and experience nature at minimal impact and with unprecedented intimacy. Ecotram also represents a new revenue source for the Lodge, with guests typically paying a fee per use.

Ecotram is suited for use at nature reserves, ecotourism locations and hotels, adventure parks, private properties, tree houses, and many other kinds of venues. Prospective clients for the Ecotram system are welcome to visit Hacienda Baru and experience the Ecotram system onsite and in person.
